10th December: Kirby Lonsdale Area
After meeting at the Devils Bridge car park the eight of us headed into Kirkby Lonsdale for morning coffee and second breakfast. After coffee we headed out of Kirkby Lonsdale along the B6446, we soon join the A65 for short stretch before turning on to Gallowber Lane, after short climb we were soon on our first track, which we follow down to Sealford Lane (its best doing this track in the Winter months of the year as the track near Sealford Farm get over grown with nettles), at Sealford Farm we cross nice packhorse bridge which is worth a look. We continue along Sealford Lane and then we joined Newbiggin Lane. Then we enjoy freewheel down into the Lupton Valley where Pat got a puncture which was mend by Fred and Steve(RSF chairman), we were soon on our way through Newbiggn where we joined Puddlemire Lane which is nice gated road, which we again enjoyed another free wheel down to Farleton, we then cross over the A6070, then we enjoy short detour through the lanes before joining the A6070 which we followed to Holme Park Farm, where we join the next track which part of the Limestone Link between Sliverdale and Kirkby Lonsdale and the only section you can ride bike on. We carry on up the track, stopping half way along for lunch my the track side
After lunch we carry on up the track, with few good views of the Kent valley, at end of the track we decided we would head back to Kirkby Lonsdale via Hutton Roof then we followed Gallowber lane and Pitt Lane through High and Low Biggins back into Kirkby Lonsdale for Afternoon Tea before we headed for home.
