About National Club
As you gather from our home page the South Lakes Group is a local group of the Rough-Stuff Fellowship a national off-road cycling touring club based in the UK with oversea members in several counties across the world and local area groups across the UK.
The national club is run by a national committee made up of officials elected each year at the Easter Meet and member (The Area Secretary) from each local group of the RSF. The committee meets twice year at the the Easter and Autumn Meets.

The RSF was formed on 29th May 1955 at the Black Swan Hotel, West Street, Leominster, (you can read account of the inaugural meeting by Bob Harrison at this link) with aim of banding together those cyclists who traverse rougher and quieter routes as part of their pastime, to add to their enjoyment and appreciation of the countryside.
Each year at the Easter Meet, at the national annual dinner the President hands out prizes to the various members who have won the various competitions over the year, ‘The RSF member’ has written interest article about the awards and their origins at this link.
