Forthcoming Events of South Lakes Group

 

Our rides are open to cyclists of all abilities, all ages and on all types of cycle(perhaps with the exception of lightweight racers, we do go off road). They are easy paced, non-competitive social rides usually calling at one cafe in the morning but participants are ask to bring a pack lunch on all South Lakes Group rides. If you are a non-member you are welcome to join us for two or three rides, check us out, and then hopefully become a member (It is only £12.00 per year!). Just turn up on the day or for further information call Simeon on 01524-811843 after 6.00pm

 

The following members are designated leaders for the South Lakes Group and authorised by the committee: Peter Kenner, Fred Lloyd, Pat Lloyd, Cliff Brown, Bryan Lynch, Don Dalton, Barrie Usherwood, Nick Lay and Simeon Orme. For full list of members who authorised to lead rides click here.

Saturday 6th: A ride to Horton-in-Ribbledale: Meet at 10.00am at the national parks car park in Clapham.

Sunday 14th: A ride to Levens: Meet at 10.00am at the car park in Tewitfield.

Sunday 21st: A ride up the Old Shap Road: Meet at 10.00am at the Ashes Lane car park on the A591 between Kendal and Staveley.

Saturday 27th: A ride to Scorton: Meet at 10.00am at the Denny Beck car park near Halton.

 

March

Saturday 6th: A ride around the Settle Loop of the Pennine Bridleway: Meet at 10.00 am at the free car park in High Bentham.

Sunday 14th: A ride to Docker Fell: Meet at the car park at Tewitfield at 10.00am.

Sunday 21st: A ride to Little and Great Langdale: Meet at 10.00am at the Rigg Wood car park on road on the east side of Coniston Water.

Saturday 27th: A ride along the Turbarry Road: Meet at 10.00am at the Denny Beck car park near Halton.

 

April

Saturday 3rd: A ride around the Lowther Valley: Meet at 10.00am at the car park near public toilets in Shap.

Sunday 11th: A ride to Meathop: Meet at 10.00am at the car park at Tewitfield.

Sunday 18th: A ride along Claife Heights: Meet at 10.00am at the Ashes Lane car park on A591 between Kendal and Staveley.

Saturday 24th: A ride over the Salter Fell Road: Meet at 10.00am at the Denny Beck car park near Halton.

 

May

Saturday 1st: A ride along the Winster Valley: Meet at 10am at the Ashes Lane car park on the A 591 between Kendal and Staveley or at Wilf’s Cafe in Staveley at 11am

Sunday  9th : A ride to Fox’s Pulpit:  Meet at 10am at the car park in Tewit field.

Sunday 16th : A ride to Malham Tarn: Meet at the free car park in High Bentham.

Saturday 22d: A ride to Winterscales: Meet at Denny Beck car park  near Halton at 10 am.

Saturday 29th: A ride to Sunbiggin Tarn: Meet at 10 am at the car park near the public toilets in Shap.
