Welcome to our website, the South Lakes Group is a local group of the Rough-Stuff Fellowship a off-road cycle touring club. The group organises weekly rides, camping weekends and YHA weekends in Cumbria, North Lancashire and the Yorkshire Dales. We cater for riders with a wide range of abilities and ages so that all our members can enjoy countryside.

The Rough-Stuff Fellowship was founded in 1955 with aim of banding together those cyclists who traverse rougher and quieter routes as part of their pastime, to add to their enjoyment and appreciation of the countryside. The group also meets up with other local groups of the Rough-Stuff Fellowship for camping & youth hostel weekends and with our national club for the Easter Meet and the Autumn Meet.

About the website
The site was started on 6th March 2001 by Simeon Orme to promote South Lakes Group events, is now part of South Lakes network of off-road cycle touring and mountain biking websites which promote the benefits of being member of the South Lakes Group, Lancashire Group and North Peak & South Pennine Group  of the Rough-Stuff Fellowship, also the Northern Tracks & Bridleways  website is part of the South Lakes network of websites. The five sites share same what’s new page, site map and webmaster. Its also should be noted that this site is not owned by the Rough-Stuff Fellowship Limited and is independently manage my the webmaster. The running costs of the site are met through advertising on the site and by the webmaster. Opinions express on this site are not always those of members and directors of the Rough-Stuff Fellowship Ltd.
